| He's probably not allergic to ALL insulin, but certain people have been known to develop allergies to certain types of insulin.
You need to figure out which type that he's on he's allergic to, and switch to another type that does the same thing. If he's on Novolog and that is causing the reaction he can swap that for Humalog, if it is Lantus that is the culprit he can switch to Levemir.
