My endo does a thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) blood test everytime I see him (every 3-4 months). I've never had a problem and always wondered why he order's the lab. He said that diabetics are more prone to have thyroid problems than non-diabetics. Your doctor should at least test you, especially if you ask for it
