No, not usually. I've had my Cozmore since 2004 and that's never happened. The only issues I've ever experienced with it were tiny stress fractures by the battery housing & on the back of the pump, which didn't affect performance or delivery. I only had it replaced once, but have had similar issues with this pump (some slight stress fractures)....guess I'm somewhat tough on my equipment?
