REALLY GLAD u r OK. Some bodies do not get affected with high blood sugar when you have a stomach bug or cold. Next time, keep in mind, it is better to check more frequently while sick. Also, as the years go by, you will notice changes as to how your body reacts to different situations. I have been there having a real bad hypo, but thankfully just needed the paramedics and not the hospital. I know its no fun and the feeling you have afterwards is not good either. I think its really easier to correct a high than a low as u are conscious. Hope you get to feeling better and ask questions if u need to.
