I don't know the situation in which you teach, grade/subject, school system size, etc., and I don't know how comfortabale you are with the school system's administration, but couldn't you volunteer to take diabetic children in your class?
I'm sure the mothers here in the Forum would love to have you as a teacher for their diabetic child.
