My understanding was that people with type 1.5 experienced more highs after eating than fasting. My fasting blood sugars were always pretty normal. I shot up whenever I ate anything though, only to have my blood sugar crash down hours later. I started on insulin with meals first, then added Lantus, and I'm on a pump now. I never did pills.

Just because you are thin doesn't mean you can't have insulin resistance, though it makes it much, much less likely. I suspect they will do a GTT and insulin levels.
