Over the last month or so, I have noticed that my Lantus (which i take at bedtime) is taking me for a little dip around 3-4 mmol/l at around 4am.
kemist,
I too use Lantus and Novolog/novorapid.

To head off any Lantus lows, I eat something before going to bed. I keep the snack in the 12-22 Carb range and wake up BG reading is generally 85/4.7-95/5.2.

I'll wake up wth a 6.5-8.0 sugar, take 14 units in my abdomen (haven't changed injection sites) andwhen I get to work 20 mins later, my sugar is at like 18 mmol/l ?!?!!?!?!

What is causing this SURGE?! I used to cover this breakfast with a modest 6-7 units of Novorapid and still be at like 6 mmol/l when i get to work.
I'm not sure I understand.
1. Are you saying that you've had to up the amount of Novorapid to cover breakfast?
2. How much time has expired between injection and BG test that gives you a reading of 18? In your statement it reads as if you've not waited 2 hours before checking your BG.

Sorry I'm so dense.
