I was having migraines at least four times a week - most times I had a headache 24/7 at some level of pain. a four to five day headache several times a month just equals constant pain and it sucked big time. My doc put me on amitryptilin (sp?) 10 mg nightly for migraines. It really works but the one downside is that I wake up very tired. I can't tell anymore if it's the med or the diabetes but honestly if I take it every night like I'm supposed to my migraines are less frequent and much less severe. They don't last as long either. I also have Imitrex for the times they still get a little too bad, but I haven't had to use one in more than two months now.

Good luck with the headaches! I definitely feel your pain!
