You have every right to feel the way you do. Mom's sometimes are in denial because they fear the worst and hate to think there may be a problem with their kids. But ya'd think that getting help from a doctor and getting things settled once and for all would be more practical and logical.

Perhaps call and make the appointment yourself? Good luck to yah. In my book, there's always a resolution for every problem.
