That
is a very high basal dose for a type 1. From the other responses you can see the general trend. That amount of basal is usually only required in very large, type 2s. It might be that you are not a simple T1, but have other issues.
Also, most people seem to find that Levemir does not last 24 hours so two shots are required. (Lantus lasts somewhat longer, but many still get better results with two shots.)
