Thanks for the welcome and responses.

I really have absolutely no excuse except for pure sloth. My first 4yr degree was in nutrition, although I've never actually worked in the field. I currently work as an ER nurse! So I should know diet and diabetes inside/out. I'm ashamed to say I can't even remember how to carb count! I'll probably go in for my dietitian appt to see a new grad who needs to teach me what I've been neglecting the past 10 years.

I don't currently take Lantus, but NPH. With my first pregnancy, they also had prescribed this (although my blood sugars normalized back then). Starting NPH last nite scared the h3ll out of me. I was so paranoid of having another hypoglycemic rxn. Little did I know it would hit me 13 hours later.

Anyways, I had been dosing myself with sliding scale humalog, depending on what I ate. I feel it was better. But I guess I just didn't give myself enough insulin!

My OB thought the regular insulin would be better, since it has a longer half life. So far it just seems I'm taking more and more insulin. And with that NPH, I can see I can't so much as be late on my lunch meal.

I'm so nervous about compromising this pregnancy. We've had two miscarriages and at my age and the recent expense of this IVF, we don't have too many options remaining.

Where are all the prego diabetics???
