| That's not too bad of a change. When you exercise, your body releases stress hormones (part of the "running away from the tiger") that cause a rise in the blood glucose.
Also, if your body senses no food, it's likely to start breaking down fat. You get that energy from that fat breakdown.
As a Type 1, when I would go jogging, sometimes I'd have to give myself a unit of insulin to fight off that increase (starting at 100 mg/dl, and after jogging just one mile, I'd be at 170 mg/dl, before I'd dip back down again). |
