| Dewey, I feel your pain. My dad is very much the same way. He's a type 2, will not change from NPH, only tests his bg twice a day, won't see his doctor until he's forced to by my mom (he has a really bad rash that looked like cellulitis to me), hates his endo because he wouldn't put him on Byetta and gave him no reason for it, etc.
I've told you all awhile ago about my uncle who had a certain part of his body amputated due to gangrene caused by his diabetes non-control... You'd think that with having seen his brother lose *that* that my dad would *want* to take control... it obviously hasn't happened yet. I told my dad on the phone the other night that if he didn't start taking control and better care of himself, that he'd better not expect me to be sympathetic when he starts losing parts, getting sicker, etc.
I just don't understand people who won't take care of themselves when it's just so easy to... Yep, you guessed it, I'm a royal b**ch!
