| My endo handed me two vials of Apidra about 3 months ago. I found it to be slightly faster acting and cleared out slightly faster. I had to make fewer two hour corrections and my 2 week average BGs went down 15-20 md/dl. I also had reduced my nightime basal rate and was considering reducing another when my Apidra supply was finished.
Both Novolog and Humalog are on my insurance's primary drug list while unfortunately Apidra is third tier, so while it's available to me, it's much more expensive. The improvement for me was measurable but not enough to justify the higher cost. I will switch if Apidra ever gets moved up to primary status.
