| I was just dx with type 1.5 last month. We have three children and I was wondering the same thing. If it is gentic.. I have questions.. I have two brothers and one sister. So far i am the only one who is diabetic in my immediate family. My mother's first cousin has type 1 but started a child. I guess I had a predispostion for it and something triggered it now. At 37, and slim and active.. I wasn't expecting this at all. I intend to ask the pediatrician about the kids.
