| Congratulations! I guess the first test you took must have been a urine test, which a couple people have indicated is less sensitive than the blood test. Blood can detect ANY elevation in HCG while the urine test doesn't show positive until the HCG is at least 50.
Like someone else has also recommended, it will be VITAL for you to keep your sugars under tight control for a minimum of the first nine weeks when most of the vital organs are forming. Otherwise you can do your future child a lifetime of damage.
I'm also prego - 24 weeks now. I had the disadvantage of just starting insulin and had a lot of trouble with tight control my first trimester. Sounds like you'll have a better handle on it.
