When I was deciding between Lantus and Levemir, my endo mentioned that some people find the Lantus stings because of the acid solution it's suspsended in, and a small fraction of people on Levemir will get a tiny rash.

I'd assume, therefore, that it's a known possible reaction and not something to worry about.
