The Orleans???

I'd like to thank Bill (w5wjp) for this suggestion. In talking with him he brought up The Orleans as a hotel. Granted, it's not on the strip, but it does have a bus that goes between the strip and the hotel that is free (correct me if I'm wrong on the free part.)

You can check out the hotel more at.... Orleans Las Vegas Hotel Casino Resort Spa - Official Website

Here are some nice things about the Orleans.....
~Casino
~Movie theater with first run movies
~Bowling Alley
~Cheap Rates (will mention in a minute)
~Good choice of restaurants

Now, currently they have a special going on called the Mardi Gras Special. I have no idea how long it will last but it appears that it's good anytime Sunday-Thurday. Here are some details on the special: The Orleans Hotel and Casino

Mardi Gras 3-Day/2-Night
Room Package
From $109
Based on Double Occupancy
* 2 Nights Accommodation
* Dinner Buffet for two
* Breakfast Buffet for two
* Complimentary Fun Book
* Subject to availability
* Offered Sunday through Thursday

That is $125 after tax (at least when I called today for the week of the trip it was.) Now, you might be thinking it's only 2 nights. They will allow you to book that package back to back. If one is traveling solo you don't need much else. That would be 4 breakfasts and 4 dinner buffets for yourself, which can be a huge savigns in money.

The "Fun Book" has even more money saving coupons in it.

When I asked for a quote on the room after taxes from June 24 to June 29 (5 nights) I was given $340.40 after taxes. To me, that is a heck of a deal.

Now, what I'd like to know is. Who on here is planning on attending, for how long, and would you be interested in staying at The Orleans. Just trying to get an idea of numbers and where people will be staying. If you plan elsewhere, let me know.

Thanks,
~Jedi
