Variety in diet

As I was researching my bible for tips on nutrition, suddenly I realized one thing, in Genesis 2:16 God told Adam that he could eat of every tree of the fruit of the Garden.

This made me realize that one of the keys to good nutrition especially for a diabetic is a variety of foods in the diet. I think that it is important for a diabetic to diversify the meals.

Instead of having oatmeal for breakfast every day, it might be better to have a different type of breakfast every single day. Yes this will require more planning, but the nutritional value of a diversified diet will be worth it.

Not only only will it be good from a nutritional point of view, but also from a phsycological point of view. Eating the same breakfast, lunch or dinner is bound to get boring and demoralizing.

Of course it is more work to plan diversification in meals, and some people actually enjoy eating the same foodstuffs almost everyday, but I feel that perhaps that is not a good tactic for a diabetic.
