| I think that is the hardest thing for me to get used to with my latest upgrade (from a minimed 508 to paradigm).
I find that the iob is correct if I have already taken a bolus for high bg, but it tends to be wrong if I hadn't taken the right amount in the first place (mainly if I didn't count my carbs correctly, like when eating out).
So I tend to only override (just type in the insulin the old fashioned way) for the amount of carbs I can estimate I didn't estimate right in the first place.
In a response to a question someone had on here about drinking/drugging while being diabetic, they said we are like full time nurses ourselves (and you wouldn't want an intoxicated nurse working on you). I think this is just as true with counting carbs, etc. The great news about that is that we can learn more as we go on.
