I have found that low GI fruits especially berries have little or no effect on my BG (in moderation). Frozen raspberries are especially good. High in fiber, low in sugar. Blueberries, strawberries also good.. for me anyway.

As far as bible-type-foods go, Pomegranite is also a good one for low GI. Though they are a pain to gut.
