Hi Blue Eyes,
If there's a diabetes association in your area perhaps you would consider joining it. I know here you meet new people with similar problems, and events are organised etc. and generally it can be a good experience.
Becoming a T1 isn't the nicest thing that could happen to you but it could also be worse. Your life, although it will change a litte, won't change dramatically. You can still do virtually anything you wish and enjoy life pretty well. Try to stick to the rules as much as you can and you shouldn't have too many problems.
