Waterproof Didn't we just discuss that all pumps are susceptible to cracks therefore making EVERY pump not 100% waterproof??? |
Yeah, and I think we determined that it's better to have one labeled waterproof than not.

Who cares if it's not currently being sold anymore. All that matters is that strips are still available (which they are) and meters are still available (which they are) if one should malfunction.

It would matter to me because Minimed has no clue what they are going to do when it's not available anymore. Should be interesting.
I love the shape of the Minimed pump. They have a wide variety of cases and clips. That's all great.
Beside that though, we were discussing
features and the Minimed pump is lacking in that department. The other pumps all have features the Minimed doesn't. The only feature the Minimed pump has that the others don't is CGMS, and for most people, that's unfortunately not accessible.

I am not worried at all about the meter issue, I use a Ultra Smart, and ONLY use the BD one to sync my data with Carelink. One thing the Cozmo praisers/MM bashers NEVER mention.... MM has Cozmo beat on data analysis, reports, and the like. Ahem... which pump has more prescriptions written year after year? MM does. Which pump do more Endo's recommend? MM. I hate these *ahem.. urinating* matches......
The ones who say the CGMS of MM's is inaccurate... ain't used one. I DO, and it is SPOT ON accurate 97.5% of the time for me, and when it is off, it's not by more than 10%. 9 times out of 10 when I test, it is within 5 points of my actual fingerstick BG reading.
Even though I don't use a Cozmo, I do NOT bash them or talk bad about them to anyone. It is an *INDIVIDUALISTIC* choice, just like picking what color to paint your house, car, etc. |
You don't want pump bashing...so you start pump bashing? Good job.
There are people who have tried the CGMS who don't feel it's accurate. I know it works well for you. That's great. I'm very happy about that. Some people say it's great, some people don't. Again, personal choice.
Cozmo has Minimed beat on on-pump data analysis. But I do prefer Minimed's online data management. Hopefully Cozmo will fix that soon.
And don't. even. get. me. started. on the whole Minimed gets more prescriptions thing. They have insane amounts of marketing. That's GREAT. It doesn't make it a better pump though. Endos recommend it cause their reps give lots of samples to them or whatever.
