MM has been around since at least 1995 (I'm sure alot earlier) whereas both Cozmo and Animas only have about 5 years. Those are the main reasons.
Heck, there's tons of people out there that haven't even heard of Dexcom. I recently went to a local seminar on pumps and they spent alot of time talking about the CGMS units and spent 2 minutes on the Dexcom and about 30 on the MM. The MM rep basically said a CGMS is pointless without a pump, so why not get one built in together.
