I feel this way too, after having been T1 for 30 years. Lots of people seem to be having lots of interesting ideas about finding a permanent solution to T1. But I don't expect a cure within my lifetime. Even if a "cure" did come along, I don't know that I would want to try it if it involved messing with my immune system and my genes. Better the devil you know than the one you don't. I have done OK on MDI so far. And I will be able to keep it up for the
next 30 years.
Having said that, I think research in all areas of human endeavour is great. And I salute those who can get excited about it.
