Hi! Congrats on the baby! No, insulin will not harm your baby...it does not cross the placenta. Unlike glucose ("sugar") which does cross the placenta and can cause your baby to grow very big.

I am 25 weeks pregnant and I am type 1. I've been taking insulin for my whole pregnancy and we are both doing very well. My baby weighs almost 2 pounds which is exactly where she should be.
