When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was diet controlled only. I really did my best, ate healthy, exercised, etc. She was 22 inches and 11 pounds at... 38 weeks. The birth was difficult and although it didn't quite go well for my baby at first she grew up to be a healthy intelligent young lady of (almost!) 16 now. I was told we were lucky.

When I was pregnant with my 3rd (and last child) I changed doctor!!! I was referred to a specialist and considered a high risk pregnancy. I knew then I was in good hands (at last!). I was put on insulin, once a day, in the evening. We had a healthy, kicking and screaming boy, delivered by c-section that time. Unlike his sister, his birth went very well. He was 9.5 lbs, 21 inches. I don't do small babies I guess?? He is also healthy and intelligent. He's 14 now.

I feel I should have been put on insulin when pregnant with my daughter. Would I have another child... I would not hesitate as far as insulin goes.

The very best to you and your little baby!
