| I don't know about Paul, but trips to my parents or in-laws are very stressful for me, even though I dearly love them all! The stress is really tough on my numbers, and eating foods that I don't normally eat doesn't help either. I've learned to deal with it, knowing that things will get better when I get home. Being on a pump helps too- it allows me to adjust my basal and bolus rates as necessary, especially if we're eating lots of high-fat food. That's always tough to cover with insulin, but there's lots of good ideas here on DF for dealing with it.
