| I put this sort of thing down to 'just one of those things'.
The other day after a social get-together which entailed a good (but healthy) feed, I tested at 5am because I felt unwell and that usually means that my sugar level is dropping. However, it was 6.7 (120.6) so I had a small slug of milk, felt better and went back to bed. At 7.30 when I got up my sugar was at 7.7 (138.6) and there is no way that the small amount of milk would have done that.
A couple of hours later after breakfast and exercise, I was down to my normal 5.8 (104.4). As I would expect Harold to opine, must be something to do with the phases of the moon or the position of Neptune
