okay I presume that you are an adult.
My Older Bro was Type 1 for 48 yrs., had lots of tattoos
even put his own on(he was an artist). Never had a
problem with them. Many diabetics had them done with
no permission no problem.
Just keep your sugars in control, take services only from
an experienced reputable Tattoo Company that uses sterile
equipment and does NOT reuse ink(hard to prove unless
you see them unseal a new container).
Best of Luck to you in getting your tattoo and not having
any problems.

Thank you for the good wishes and sharing with me. Yes, I am an adult. hehehehehe I do think that its a little crazy to need my doctors permission. I would have not problem signing a waiver. I may be disappointed but I am not upset with the artist at all for wanting to cover all the bases. She told me that her Mother In Law and another relative were diabetic and she just took it very seriously. I completely respect that.
You mentioned your brother had work done...do you have any?
