I run 3 or 4 times week right now as I'm preparing to run the half-marathon in November.

Being down with a broken leg at the start of the year, that got me working on improving my upper body strength. Most of that is done with pull ups, chin ups, and push ups. I have a few dumbbells along with a couple of sledgehammers, and some old freeweights that I can stick in a backpack to add weight to the various types of pull ups, chin ups and push ups.

I've made some fairly significant gains in strength over the past 8 months and spread out over the day on Friday was able to do 100 pull ups with no significant fatigue the next day.

Being as physically active as I've become has made for generally better control and a lot more enjoyment of this thing called life.
