I know that in 1987, when my daughter was born, I was advised to not have anymore children. It would be dangerous to both me and a baby, since I'd already had GD. The next time could very well be a worse case, and harder to take care of, and could push me into Diabetes, or getting it sooner. She was my third, and finally my girl, and I had NO intentions of having anymore anyway. BUT, this is the 21st century now, and things have changed. Way back then, it was suggested that T1's didn't have children either! Now, they have them all the time and do just fine. People who've previously had GD, have more children, and do just fine! If I were you, I'd consult with my Endo about it.
