That (at least in Canada) is the recommeded level for pre-meal time. However, 2 hours after eating, and over night, it can (and in my opinon should) get up to 7-10, which is 126 to 180.

Trying to maintain such a fine level of control as you are doing is more dangerous (as you've experienced) then helpful, at least in my opinon.
