| I had this test about one year ago...basically to eliminate the possibility of gastroparesis. My endo thought that was why I went low after so many meals (it was a Lantus problem which I have since solved)...but she was insistent that I was at risk for gastroparesis due to being diabetic for 41 years.
I had the test at Rush Medical Center in Chicago. I ate a cup of instant oatmeal. Loyola uses eggs.
You will lay on a fairly comfortable surface (mine was very padded...like a health spa table!)...but I think I would ask for something to go under my elbows next time. I took footies since my feet always get cold in large air conditioned buildings. You aren't supposed to move (or cough, that was tough for me!)...but it went very quickly. I might have fallen asleep.
My test turned out negative and I felt a little irritated with endo. I didn't have any of the symptoms. But, I'm glad I had the test and wouldn't worry about taking it in the future, again, if needed.
Good luck and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere! (Rush Medical Center was very quiet!) |
