Sorry to hear that about your eye. My ophthalmologists tell me that the tiny vessels in diabetic eyes are fragile as a result of high BG and/or uncontrolled diabetes, which causes them to break and leak. 15 years ago I had extensive laser (2000 - 3000 each eye) as the docs said it was an opportune time to cauterize all the bleeders and "weed the garden," thereby preventing blindness somewhere in my future. Because of these treatments and the scarring they created, this option is no longer viable as new bleeding is now happening and obscuring sight in my left eye. The macular specialist said we could do a vitrectomy (eiiuu ). Keep those BG levels on a tight rein, do research and get all your options on proceeding with treating your leak.
