Tried experiment tonight with food and wine

I was diagnosed a little over 2 months ago with type 2...I have been rock solid on managing BG levels since then...barely going over 100 2 hours after a meal. I have been reading a lot about alcohol and its effects on BG levels. Tonight…I had the craving bad…My one weakness in the world…Mexican food…Chips…Fajitas…and all the other good stuff…(however..no rice this time, but I did eat a bunch of chips and 2 tortillas with my fajitas)…Checked 30 minutes after…bg was at 126….hour later 144…drank a glass of red wine…checked 30 minutes later at 130…30 minutes again…118 and now several hours later…98..
Yes…I realize this is not a wise choice to do everyday..but I wonder if and when the cravings come…could this be a way to keep BG levels out of the danger zone.
I am still learning what I can an can't do. This was the riskiest move I have made yet...but sometimes you have to give into the weakness...
