lets see how it goes.
Sure! As most of you know, I was on the pump for around two years. This was a good and bad experience. Being on the pump gave me a wealth of diabetes knowledge, but the infusion sets were such a problem that I had to get off of it.

This is my current regimen.

6:00 am – 8 units of Lantus; 10:00 pm – 11 units of Lantus. Novolog at meals.

Breakfast
Breakfast consists of a South Beach peanut butter bar and a banana. I also take a Centrum, Omega 3, and Metamucil.

Lunch
Lunch consists of a turkey and cheese sandwich, a granny smith apple, a flax seed bar, and sometimes whole wheat fig neutons.

Dinner (around 6:00 pm)
Dinner always consists of a medium portion of meat or fish (chicken, pork, or salmon), a big salad (Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, and onions with a light ginger dressing), and fresh vegetables (asparagus, green beans, etc.). I also try to eat dinner as early as possible. This helps my morning sugars.

I rarely eat rice and never eat pasta. I drink a cup of coffee in the morning and then water throughout the day (I haven’t had soda in months). I also never eat anything after dinner.

Exercise:
I always warm up for around 15 – 20 minutes on the treadmill. I usually get my heart rate at or above 150 for at least 30% of my workout on the treadmill. After that, I lift weights for around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on which muscle group that I am hitting that day.

Other stats:
Since being on this type of diet I have cut my body fat down to 8%, lowered my LDL cholesterol, and also have lowered my blood pressure (108/71). Not to mention that I’ve lowered my A1C to 5.2.
