Hi A,
I have used one touch ultra and currently using accu chek active for the reason that accu cek test strip cost half of one touch ultra. However, both read at about -3 to -5% compared to my lab test. I think the idea is to not test your glucose level (GL) too frequently unless you suspect you are going into hypo or hyper. Have you watched your carbs intake and spread them evenly throughout the days? It would also be helpful to let your body getting used to a dose of insulin for at least a week before adding or reducing the dose (unless the GL is going dangerously high or low). I check my GL about six times a day: 6.30 am (fasting), two hours after meals (breakfast, lunch and diner) and before and after my daily 30 min cardio and weight exercise. Hope this is helps.
