You have what is referred to as "double diabetes". That is, a type 1 who is also insulin resistant. Type 1.5 is someone whose beta cells are being attacked by their immune system, but who continues to produce some of their own insulin. This can go on for many years. In other words, it is a type 1 on a very long honey moon.
