A negative GAD antibody test result does not preclude T1/1.5. The antibodies in your case could be a variant that is not picked up by the test. 6 units of Lantus is a low dose, but you need to test regularly to see how it will affect you. Set your alarm, to wake you in the middle of the night so that you can test. Also be aware that exercise can lower blood sugar for up to 36 hours. With regular testing, you will figure it out quickly.
