Fellow DF members:
Linda and I have been fans of the Navigators Professional Bicycle racing team for some years. Well, the Navigators are gone but a new team is being formed. Following is the announcement along with an e-mail address you can use to show your encouragement to the team management (Ed Beamon)
Out with OLD and in with the NEW
As 2007 ends and we begin a new year, we close a chapter on America’s longest continuous professional cycling team sponsorship. The 14 year relationship with the Navigators Insurance Company has come to a close and a new page in US Cycling begins.
On behalf of Velocity Sports Management, Edj Sports Management, and the 70 athletes who have worn the Navigators Insurance colors, we want to thank our many fans and sponsors for their enthusiasm, commitment, and loyal support. It has been a remarkable and rewarding journey, and a privilege to represent the Navigators Insurance Company on 5 continents.
As 2008 begins, Edj Sports Management and several former members of the Navigators Insurance team will be working with an exciting new American Continental team known as Team Type 1. Beyond its competitive objectives, the team’s mission will be to raise awareness for diabetes and the positive affect of a healthy and active lifestyle in controlling and preventing the long term affects of the disease.
