Question Type 2 diabetes is all about weight?

Hi, I'm going to try to lose my weight from 197 lbs to what my doctors have been telling me to do for last few years by reducing my weight down to 160. I hope this will let me stop taking shots and just some pills. I have a uncle that is 81 years old that takes a small diabetic pill a day because he has been walking a mile or more everyday for last 30 years. He has never taken shots. He is a type 2 diabetic.

Thanks, Rob
