Fasting Blood Sugar

I have to go in for a blood test and as usual have to have nothing to eat after 12 pm.

My question is can I get the test after I do my walk or does it have to be before my exercise, as the numbers do change.

During my walk I may hav a couple gulps of plain water. I have nothing to eat before my walk.

Thanks
