Lightbulb My vision improved a lot, but then went back

Prior to diabetes, my vision was about 20/50, or -1.75 in my right eye and -2.25 in my left eye and i wear contacts. While I was in the hospital during my diabetic coma, my vision improved greatly over 2 or 3 days. It must have been 20/20 or darn close to it. Shortly when I returned home, my vision would get blurry when I put on glasses or contacts and it was so weird, I noticed I had near perfect vision. Then, over the next few days, my vision slowly got worse, and now its back to my original pre-diabetic vision. I know diabetes affects vision but I thought permanently.
