I always look at the control thing as "focus". If you loose focus even for a short period of time everything can go crazy very quickly. For Type 1s especially I figure we are on total "manual control" of all aspects of food, exercise, and administration of medication rather than on "automatic" like non-diabetic individuals. If you loose focus on one or more of these you get in trouble.
