| Actually, my husband does the insertion in the back of my arm for me - I've done it once, but it's tough getting the needle out one handed. The needle hurts sometimes, mostly not. Once it's in, though, I tape it down w/ waterproof adhesive tape and pretty much forget it's there.
I probably wouldn't have used the back of my arm, but one of the diabetes nurses in my clinic is diabetic and uses a pump/sensor and that's where she wears her sensors - I figured I'd try it out too and have come to like wearing it there, at least in the winter time!
I haven't been able to keep one in for much more than 7 days - on or shortly after the 7th day I get a "Lost Sensor" message and it never finds it again. Not sure if it's from the location, or just the typical age of the sensor.
