Increasing weight fast

My grandma just came out of knee replacement operation. The thing is, she feared the operation quite a bit so she postponed it for quite a while. Over time, it became more painful to move. So to make a long story shrort, she wasted away and lost about 35 pounds over 9 months.

Last week, she finally agreed to the op, and we did it. Now, it is rehab time. And part of the rehab and strengthening, as well as weight gain.

The thing is, she is type 2, and because she is 80, her kidneys aren't are great.

I would like to know which of the meal supplements are better, glucerna powder, nutren diabetic, or CARNATION INSTANT BREAKFAST FOR THE CARB CONSCIOUS (but I noticed carnation uses maltodextrin and aspartame), both for controlling her diabetes and gaining weight.

Thanks for the help.
