| You can dial the Solostar until it stops turning. When you inject the plunger stops pretty much at the bottom, so there can't be much insulin left in the pen (a couple of Units maybe). If you are keen not to waste, you can then top up the rest of your dose from a new pen.
If there isn't enough left for the shot, I tend to dispose of the pen and start a new one. However, I always split any dose more than about 8U (e.g. for 12 U I will do 2 x 6) so there is very little wasteage.
