Byetta tends to be most effective on post-meal #s. I take the 5 mcg shot with b/fast and dinner. When first on it, I did have EXTREME nausea, but this went away after the first week or so.

I have found if I take my shot and wait 20-30 minutes, I fill up quicker and eat less. If I take the shot right when I eat, I tend to overeat, then get that incredibly full feeling and occasionally some nausea. I was on metformin at first, but the two together caused me to have some low readings so I had to stop it.

Byetta 5 mcg
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets


Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (right after dealing with shingles and bronchitis)
