Hi Rob,

Welcome to the forum. I chuckled at your signature. Having type 1 pretty much sucks at any age, but I do particularly remember 16 being not-so-sweet.

I'm thinking it would be good to have a pump. As long as you don't land on it too hard when you crash, it should really make your life easier and your control better. There should be a way to get your tester down to a mini so that the whole kit will fit in your pocket. That way, you can count carbs and know exactly how to correct. At 16, I was injecting in private too. I still do test under the table so as to not affect the weak-stomached in public places. With a pump, your correction doses can be blatant. So much more convenient and your friends will get used to your hi-tech gadget quickly.

I bet your mom knows this already--she's probably a fountain of advice, like all of us moms.

I'm glad you found us.

Mich
